In support of our mission, we are seeking an Editor to join our editorial team, leading content for our forthcoming research and insights platform. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with issues business leaders face around the future of work, strong writing and editing skills, and a creative and entrepreneurial bent.
This role provides a unique opportunity to create something new from the ground up and pioneer new approaches to journalism and research content. **You will report into our managing editor.

What you’ll do
The Charter Pro Editor will lead the creation of editorial content for our members, who are owners of the talent agenda, across an email newsletter, insights platform, and other membership offerings. This is an opportunity to develop and execute Charter’s content voice, formats, and strategy for an audience of leaders shaping the future of work.
Specific responsibilities:
- Create and produce compelling editorial products that help our members make sense of the rapidly changing talent landscape and prepare their organizations for the future, including (but not limited to) a daily email newsletter, news and analysis roundups and original pieces, reports and case studies, and other tools and resources.
- Play a lead role in shaping our editorial coverage across Charter’s offerings**, s**taying up to date on news, trends, best practices, and research related to the workplace.
- Manage the other journalists dedicated to Charter Pro.
- Host and moderate virtual and in-person events for our members and broader reader community.
- Work closely with Charter’s research team to help shape the research agenda and translate findings into actionable content for our members and the broader public.
- Contribute research and reporting to editorial projects, including your own bylines and joint pieces with colleagues.
- Collaborate with the rest of the editorial team on best deploying content between our enterprise and consumer-facing editorial products, including our free email newsletter, our section on Time.com, and Charterworks.com.
Who you are
- A strong writer, editor, and researcher (formal journalism experience is a plus but not required)
- Creative and entrepreneurial
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Well-versed in concepts and issues related to management, human resources, and the workplace
- Sound news judgment and an ability to distill complex ideas into key takeaways
